Completing Task 2 was much easier than I thought. I allowed myself plenty of time to complete it without stressing too much about it. Through my significant research, I found a lot of helpful and useful information that would help teachers to teach and guide students about safe, responsible and ethical uses of the web. For this task I decided that my target audience would be upper-primary and pre-teen school level. I thought this would make the task a bit more fun in researching through websites for children such as Cybersmart and Kids Help. I also included a fun, engaging video that I found on the Cybersmart website that would be suitable for this target audience.
The only key challenge I had with the completion of this task was the aspect of creating a digital guidelines poster. When it comes to art, I am not very creative so I found it somewhat difficult to use an idea from safe, responsible or ethical web use and to present it in a poster form. However, I researched some different examples of digital citizenship posters and was able to easily navigate my way through the Piktochart poster creation tool. After conducting this research and playing around with Piktochart, I finally thought of a fun and interesting way of presenting the idea of how one can be a good digital citizen through the notion of 'Respect and Protect'.
I am extremely proud of myself, as the task is due today and I completed and submitted it two days ago. I worked very hard and conducted a lot of research, and I am, therefore, very pleased with my end result.
