"Digital citizenship is the norms of appropriate, responsible technology use"

I found a great video called Digital Citizens Guide (above) on the Cybersmart website that talks about positive aspects of Digital Citizenship.
Target AudienceMy research on safe, responsible and ethical use of the web is targeted at upper-primary and pre-teen school level. The links to the information in the following pages may be useful for teachers to implement in their classrooms:
Poster DescriptionI decided to create a poster that focuses on responsible use of the web and how to be a good digital citizen. The poster is a kind of checklist, specifically about the idea of Respect and Protect. I think it is important to teach children how to use the web and online resources responsibly, in order for them to develop themselves as good, positive digital citizens.
The poster I have created is aimed at upper-primary and pre-teen school students. Although it seems there may be a fair bit of written information, I have used simple and understandable language suitable for this target audience. The text is fairly large and I have included a lot of colour, as well as a few cartoon type images, to make the poster look bold, engaging and "fun", as I believe these elements appeal best to such a young target audience. Most of the time, I generally use Word or PowerPoint to create graphics, like posters. As EDN113 is a technology unit, in which I am learning different and effective ways of using technology, I thought this would be a great opportunity to try using a new tool and expand my technological knowledge. Many different tools were suggested on the Technology Toolbox for Educators website. After trying some of these tools, I decided that Piktochart was the most simple and fun, so I used this technology tool to create my poster. Downloadable Version of my Digital Guidelines Poster
